Baughman makes history with 100th career goal, Hornets pound Parkland 9-1 to finish undefeated in regular-season.

RECAP – On a night when Emmaus hosted its Senior Night, it was one senior who stood out and made history.

Riley Baughman, one of seven seniors honored prior to tonight’s regular-season finale against rival Parkland, led the Hornets high-scoring attack as she scored a game-high four goals, including the 100th of her career, leading Emmaus to a 9-1 rout of the Trojans.

Baughman had a hat trick in the first half, and then made history with just 12 minutes left in the regulation as she scored her 100th goal off an assist from teammate and fellow senior Kacie Patton.

Emmaus closed out yet another undefeated regular-season finishing 16-0 in the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference and 18-0 overall. In their 18 games this season, the Hornets have outscored their opponents by an incredible 180-3 margin.

Besides Baughman, Emmaus also got a pair of goals from Patton, and solo scores from senior Kayla Kisthardt, junior Kaitlyn Csensits and sophomore Annika Herbine.

For the game, the Hornets outshot the Trojans 16-5 and held a commanding 10-0 advantage in penalty corners. Senior goalie Claire Nielsen made three saves before giving way to sophomore Bailey Tietz who played the last seven minutes.

Up next, Emmaus will prepare for the upcoming EPC Tournament which gets underway on Saturday at home at a time to be determined. The Hornets will be the No. 1 seed and will face the No.8 seed, which could be Parkland, again, or Northampton.

Prior to the game, the team’s seven seniors were honored along with their parents. The senior group included: Riley Baughman, Kayla Kisthardt, Joy Muller, Kacie Patton, Claire Nielsen, Kristen Zellner and Sarah Will.
