RECAP — The Emmaus boys swim and diving team remained unbeaten in the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference on Thursday at home as the Hornets defeated Freedom 108-70.
Head coach Tim O’Connor’s squad won seven of the 12 events and improved to 5-0 in the EPC and 5-1 overall. Freedom dropped to 4-3 in both the league and overall.
Junior Devin Metzger was involved in three first-place finishes for Emmaus, winning the 100 free in 49.80 and also being a part of the Hornets 200 medley relay, along with sophomores Luke Rautzhan, Nick Soares and Michael Iacobelli, and the 200 free relay with teammates junior Paul Petre and sophomores Luke Rautzhan and Connor Shriver.
Petre took top honors in the 50 free in a winning time of 23.95, sophomore Owen Mont also claimed first in the 200 free (1:57.37), while Soares touched the wall in 53.61 to win the 100 backstroke.
In diving, senior Drew Stenger took top honors with a winning score of 200.30.
Emmaus will return to action on Thursday, January 31 when they host Central Catholic at 4 p.m.
