The 2019 Lehigh Valley Connie Mack Baseball League season has gotten underway, and for Mike Behr, it’s been a good start to his first year as head coach at Emmaus.
Through the first seven games, the Hornets sit near the top of the league standings with a 6-1 record and have outscored their opponents 65-27.
Emmaus opened their season back on May 21 defeating South Parkland 5-4 and have since picked up wins over Lehigh Bethlehem (17-4), Easton (18-4), Bushkill Township (9-6), Balliet Vikings (8-5) and most recently, Hellertown (7-0). The only defeat came back on June 2 to Pleasant Valley (4-1).
This year’s team roster includes: Broc Andrew, Aidan Behr, Kaden Beidler, Wyatt Buszka, Christopher Carter, David Cobb, Zane Cook, Luke Deschenes, Hunter Mensch, Odin Palasch, Liam Rummer, Austin Schaffer, Jared Snyder, Dylan Tacker, Aiden Takach, Gavin Thompson and Zach Werthheimer. Assistant coaches are Jason Beidler, Jim Buszka and Dave Deschenes.
The league playoffs will begin on July 15 and run through July 20 on the home field of the higher-seeded team. The state playoffs will be held July 25 – August 3 at Limeport Stadium.
