Baseball – Emmaus looking to lock down playoff spot as Lehigh Valley Connie Mack League heads into homestretch

The Lehigh Valley Connie Mack Baseball League is heading into the homestretch with just two weeks of games left in its regular-season.

Emmaus, led by first-year head coach Mike Behr, is looking to clinch a berth in the post-season as the top 12 teams will qualify for the playoffs, which get underway on July 15.

The Hornets started the season 7-2, but have struggled as of late dropping four of its last six games and are now 9-6. The four losses have come against Coplay (15-5), Northeast Bethlehem (10-8), Bangor (7-6) and most recently, league-leading Moore Township (13-3).

Emmaus has two games left on its schedule beginning with a home game at Community Park against Wilson on Friday, July 5 at 6 p.m. They’ll close out the regular-season on Wednesday, July 10 as they travel to Limeport Stadium to take on Southern Lehigh at 7 p.m.
