RECAP >> Junior Colin Foley threw six strong innings and was backed by plenty of run support as Emmaus got back on the winning track with a 10-0 non-league road win at Pottsville on Friday.
The Hornets, who were coming off back-to-back shutout losses to rival Parkland earlier this week, improved to 7-3 overall, while the Crimson Tide dropped to 4-7.
Foley (2-0) allowed just four hits and struck out five in six innings of work to pick up the win.
Emmaus had nine hits in the game off three Pottsville pitchers. Sophomore Jackson Merk, playing in his first varsity game, went 2-for-4 with two RBI, senior Andrew O’Brien also had two hits and scored a pair of runs, while senior Evan Amey also had a multiple-hit game. Senior Blake Schantz and junior Dom Chiego each drove in two runs.
The Hornets will return to action on Monday at 4 p.m. as they host Stroudsburg (3-7) at Church Lane Park.
