By virtue of winning its first Eastern Pennsylvania Conference (EPC) championship since 2006, Emmaus was awarded the top overall seed for the upcoming District XI Class 6A Baseball Tournament.
Head coach Jeremy Haas’ team, which defeated Pleasant Valley 4-1 on Wednesday to claim the program’s first league title in 15 years, will be the No.1 seed and will host eighth-seeded Pocono Mountain West (9-10 overall) at 4 p.m. on Tuesday at Church Lane Park. The game will be carried LIVE on The Eastern Pennsylvania Network (EPASN).
Emmaus (18-5 overall) will be looking to win its first District XI title since 2005. The Hornets last appeared in the finals back in 2019 when they fell to Liberty 3-1 at Coca-Cola Park.
The other quarterfinal round match-ups include: No.2 Liberty (18-2) hosting No.7 Northampton (8-10) at 4 p.m., No.3 Parkland (17-5) hosting No.6 Nazareth (11-9) at 4 p.m. and No.4 Pleasant Valley (14-5) hosting No.5 Easton (14-7) at 3 p.m.
The semifinals are scheduled for Friday, May 28 with the finals to be held on Tuesday, June 1. The two teams that reach the championship game will both move on to the PIAA State Tournament which gets underway on Monday, June 7.
