RECAP >> Lower Mac won a shootout over Allentown while Emmaus dropped a doubleheader to South Parkland in Lehigh Valley Legion baseball action last night.
The Mighty Macs (3-2) picked up their second win against Allentown in three days as they used a 10-run third inning then had to hold on late for a wild 14-12 road win in a game called after six innings due to darkness.
For Lower Mac, right fielder Joe Cook had a game-high four RBI while going 2-for-4 at the plate, while starting pitcher Taylor Davis was 4-for-4 and drove in two runs. Catcher Anthony McWhinney also had a pair of hits in the game and shortstop Anthony Viola scored three runs.
Allentown (3-7) was led by shortstop Chandler Rodriguez who went 3-for-3 with three runs scored.
Lower Mac will be back in action at 6 p.m. tonight as they travel to Northern Valley.
Emmaus remained winless on the season (0-8) after dropping a pair of games to undefeated South Parkland, 12-0 and 15-1.
Head coach Jeff Merlet’s team managed just one run and three hits in the doubleheader loss.
Nate Sauter had both of Emmaus’ hits in the Game 2 loss.
For South Parkland, starting pitcher Anthony Carpenter tossed a one-hitter and struck out eight, while second baseman Dylan Fili went 2-for-3 with three RBI in Game 1.
In Game 2, James Miskanic was the winning pitcher and went 2-for-3 at the plate with two RBI and three runs scored.
Emmaus will return to action at 6 p.m. on Thursday as they travel to the Carbon Monarchs.
