Lower Mac 7, Northern Valley 1
At Church Lane Park on Thursday, Lower Mac opened its season with a 7-1 victory over Northern Valley.
Starting pitcher Shane Ohl and reliever Ryan Hummell combined to allow just one run while striking out 10 for LM (1-0).
Neither team did much hitting in the game with each side having four hits.
LM scored all the runs they would need in the first inning plating two runs.
Shortstop Emmit Budick had two RBI and was 1-for-3 at the plate with a double. Right fielder Noah Hogan was 1-for-2 with two runs scored and an RBI, while DH Josiah Williams was also 1-for-2 with an RBI.
For Northern Valley (1-1), starter Connor Simms suffered the loss. Simms gave up six runs on four hits in 5 2/3 innings.
LM will return to action on Monday at 6 p.m. when they travel to rival Emmaus.

Solehi 13, Emmaus 3
At Limeport, Emmaus jumped on Solehi for three early runs, but all would be all the scoring the Hornets could manage the rest of the way as the Spartans rolled to 13-3 victory in a game that was halted after five innings due to the 10-run rule.
Emmaus, which was coming off a season-opening 15-0 loss at Nothern Valley on Tuesday, managed just one hit in the game and did all their scoring in the first inning with right fielder Chase Simmons delivering an RBI double and two other runs scoring on a Solehi throwing error.
Starter Davin Rompilla was touched up for nine runs on 12 hits in just three innings of work and suffered the loss for Emmaus.
Solehi (1-0) banged out 12 hits in the game with right fielder MJ Edwards and pitcher Gabe Moscato each going 2-for-3 with two RBI. Center fielder Matt O’Neill and catcher Darien Cela both added two hits and an RBI.
Emmaus will return to action on Monday as they host rival Lower Mac at 6 p.m. at Emmaus Community Park
