RECAP >> At Emmaus, sophomore Mya Cooper poured in a career-high 16 points as the Hornets got back into the win column with a hard-fought 45-39 win over Pocono Mountain West.
Emmaus, which had its five-game win streak snapped last Friday in a 46-27 loss to Northampton, improved to 6-1 in the EPC and 8-3 overall with the victory.
Junior Paige Inman also had a solid game for the Hornets finishing with 12 points, while senior Kam Watkins chipped in eight.
Pocono Mountain West was paced by junior Vataijah Davis who led all scorers with a game-high 24 points. The Panthers dropped to 3-2 in the league and 5-3 overall.
Emmaus will be back in action on Thursday at 7 p.m. as they host rival Parkland (3-3/6-3)

RECAP >> At Pocono Mountain West, the Hornets fell behind early and were forced to play catch up all night as they fell 58-48 for their second straight defeat.
The Panthers Christian Fermin, a 6-10 Virginia Commonwealth University commit, had a monster game in leading his team to victory as he recorded a triple-double, scoring a game-high 25 points to go along with 20 rebounds and 10 blocks. Fermin scored 14 in the final quarter as Emmaus was looking to rally.
Also in the victory, juniors Justin Love (15 points) and Julian Pagan (11) reached double figures for the Panthers who remained undefeated in the EPC (6-0) and improved to 7-2 overall. PM West had ended Emmaus’ season a year ago in the post-season defeating the Hornets 58-33 in the second round of the District 11 Class 6A tournament.
For Emmaus, sophomore Will Barber led the way with a team-high 13 points — 9 coming in the fourth quarter. Junior Dylan Darville scored eight of his 10 points in the final period, while sophomore Jametric Harris came off the bench and scored seven of his career-high nine points in the second quarter as the Hornets stayed within striking distance trailing by just three (23-20) at the half.
Emmaus, which dropped to 5-2 in the league and 10-2 overall, will look to snap its two-game losing streak on Thursday at 7 p.m. as they travel to rival Parkland. The game will be carried LIVE on www.easternpasportsnetwork.com beginning at 6:40 p.m. with the pregame show.
