RECAP >> Both the Emmaus girls and boys basketball teams cruised to easy wins last night over Allen.
At Emmaus, the Lady Hornets celebrated senior night with a 22-point win (58-36) over the Canaries.
Freshman Gabby De Vita scored a career-high 20 points, while junior Taylor Griffith added nine and Paige Inman eight to lead Emmaus, which improved to 9-5 in the EPC and 12-8 overall.
Allen (1-14) was led by Layla Sweatte who scored a team-high 13 points.
At Sewards Gymnasium in Allentown, the Hornet boys outscored the hosts in all four quarters in a 62-29 rout of the Canaries.
Emmaus (12-2 EPC/16-4 overall) had a balanced scoring attack with three players reaching double figures. Junior Will Barber scored 12 points, sophomore Mike Ekenyere came off the bench and also added a career-high 12 and junior Jametric Harris 10. Senior Dylan Darville and sophomore Jack Csensits added eight points each.
Both squads will be back in action on Thursday with matchups against rival Parkland. The girls will host the Lady Trojans at 7 p.m., while the boys will travel up Cedar Crest Boulevard at the same time.
