At Nazareth, the Hornets led the Blue Eagles for most of the first half – despite 13 turnovers – before the home squad used a late spurt to pull away for a seven-point (30-23) advantage at the break.
Even early into the third quarter, Emmaus was still within striking distance, but eventually Nazareth’s overall talent in the second half proved to be too much as they rolled to a 30-point win keeping the Hornets winless on the season.
In a losing effort, junior Jake Ross scored a career-high 17 points for Emmaus, which fell to 0-4 overall and 0-2 in the EPC. Classmate Matt Rooney added 11.
Nazareth was led by Logan Hahn who had a game-high 19 points. Teammates Gavin Kershner and Blake Nagurney added 15 and 14 points, respectively.
The Hornets will look to bounce back tonight at 7 p.m. as they play their home opener hosting Freedom.
