Playing its third consecutive game on the road, Emmaus overcame a seven-point halftime deficit at Nazareth last night, rallying for a 56-50 win over the Blue Eagles and snapping a 16-game losing streak to the Blue Eagles.
Emmaus outscored the hosts in the second half 32-19 to improve to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the EPC.
Sophomore Kayla Snyder led the Hornets with a team-high 14 points, while junior Gabby DeVita added 13 and senior Cassie Doemling nine. Senior Sofie Laird had four rebounds and three steals.
Nazareth (2-2 overall/1-1 EPC) was paced by senior Renee Wells who led all scorers with a game-high 25 points. Junior Alexa Davis added 13.
The Hornets will return to action tonight at 7 p.m. as they play their home opener hosting Hazleton (2-0). The game will be carried LIVE on The Eastern Pa. Sports Network beginning with the pregame show at 6:45 p.m.
