RECAP >> Senior Jayden Walsh converted 1 of 2 free throws with just 3.9 seconds left in regulation as Emmaus won a back-and-forth contest with Nazareth 51-50 on Saturday afternoon in Nazareth.
The victory was the second straight for the Hornets who improved to 2-1 in the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference and 2-3 overall.
Junior Danny Bohman led Emmaus in scoring for the fourth time in five games as drained four 3-pointers and finished with a team-high 16 points. Walsh and junior Patrick Tulio each added 8 points for the Hornets who outscored Nazareth 34-29 in the second half after trailing by five (21-16) at the break.
Nazareth (1-3 overall, 0-3 EPC) was led in scoring by senior Zach Umar with 16 points. Sophomore Ryan Kresge added 10 points.
Both teams struggled from the free-throw line with Emmaus shooting 54 percent (12 of 22) and Nazareth just 40 percent (10 of 25).
