RECAP >> A pair of sophomores had career-high efforts for Emmaus last night in the team’s first road game of the season.
Mya Cooper scored 15 points and classmate Taylor Griffith 13 – both career-highs – as the Hornets cruised to a 50-35 win over Dieruff.
The victory helped Emmaus improve to 2-0 in league play and 3-2 overall, while the Huskies remained winless on the season (0-2 EPC, 0-4 overall).
The Hornets led from start to finish as they jumped out to a 13-4 lead after one quarter and held a 21-point advantage (27-6) at the half.
Dieruff was led in scoring by Jaydalise Cartagena and Marisa Price who each scored eight points. The Huskies were very efficient from beyond the arc as they converted on eight 3-pointers.
Emmaus will return to action at 7 p.m. on Tuesday as they travel to Whitehall (0-3).
