Boys Basketball – Brevitt and Barber have career-high efforts combining for 31 points as Hornets hold off Whitehall 49-35 to stay unbeaten on the season.

RECAP >> Visiting Whitehall hung around for three quarters in Tuesday’s night’s game at “The Hive’ and trailed Emmaus by just three points (31-28), but the Hornets withstood the comeback as they remained unbeaten on the season with a 49-35 win over the Zephyrs.

Emmaus outscored Whitehall 18-7 in the final quarter to earn the 14-point win and improve to 6-0 overall and 3-0 in the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference. The 6-0 start to the season is the best for head coach Steve Yoder’s squad since the 2018-19 season (7-0).

Senior Jadis Brevitt led the Hornets with a career-high 16 points, surpassing his previous-high of 15 which ironically came against the Zephyrs two years ago in a 64-52 loss. Sophomore Will Barber also had a career-best effort with 15 points, while junior Dylan Darville reached double figures for the fourth time this season adding 12.

Whitehall dropped to 2-3 overall and 1-2 in league play with the loss. The Zephyrs were led in scoring by senior Alex Derkits who had a team-high 16 points. Sophomore Luke Keppel added 10.

Emmaus will return to action on Thursday as they travel to East Stroudsburg South. Tip time for the varsity will be 5:30 p.m. The game will be carried LIVE on www.easternpasportsnetwork.com beginning at 5:15 p.m. with the pregame show.
