Boys Basketball – Hornets battle back from double-digit deficit but comeback falls short in 54-43 loss to Central Catholic

RECAP >> Emmaus trailed by as much as 12 points at halftime on Wednesday night on the road against Central Catholic and rallied to get to within one entering the fourth quarter, but the Vikings proved too much down the stretch as they spoiled the Hornets upset bid in a 54-43 win at Rockne Hall.

Central Catholic juniors Liam Joyce (game-high 21 points), Tyson Thomas (15) and Brendan Reed (14 off the bench) combined for 50 points for the Vikings who defeated Emmaus for the second time this season in improving to 10-3.

The Hornets were led in scoring by senior Patrick Tulio who had a team-high 11 points. Classmate Danny Bohman just missed double figures and finished with nine. Emmaus dropped to 3-5 on the season.

Emmaus will be back in action at 1 p.m. on Saturday as they host rival Parkland. The game will be carried LIVE on www.easternpasportsnetwork.com beginning at 12:45 p.m.
