At a rainy Memorial Field on Saturday, Emmaus trailed visiting Governor Mifflin by five goals entering the fourth quarter, but the Hornets weren’t about to let the Mustangs spoil their Senior Day as they rallied for the thrilling non-league victory.

Senior Kaleb Mains, who led Emmaus with four goals in the game, wound up scoring the game-winner for head coach Justin Fuhrman’s team who won for the third time in the last four games in improving to 8-8 overall.

The Hornets last three victories have all come by one goal, including an 11-10 win over Southern Lehigh just two days earlier.

Senior Gabe Chies added a hat trick in the victory, while freshmen Alex Younker and Dylan Maloney each added two goals and two assists. In goal, senior Jack Sullivan reached a personal milestone with his 100th career save.

At the ‘X’, senior Reilly Bechtel received a lot of praise from his head coach after winning 6 of 13 faceoffs.

Prior to the game, Emmaus honored its 14 seniors: Jewlien Torres, Finn Neyhart, Ben Anders, Kaleb Mains, Alex Collins, Ty Carter, Reno Guastella, Rylee Fehr, Gabe Chies, Lewes Sarver, Reilly Bechtel, James Schauer, Max Lipski and Jack Sullivan

Emmaus will return to action on Tuesday as they travel to Saucon Valley at 4:30 p.m.
