Boys LAX – Hornets held scoreless in second half as they suffer first league loss of the season, 12-6 to Easton

RECAP >> Emmaus was held without a goal in the second half last night at home vs Easton as they dropped their first league game of the season, 12-6 to the Red Rovers.

The Hornets, who entered the game as one of two unbeatens in league play, led 6-5 at the break but were unable to find the back of the net over the final 24 minutes as they were outscored 7-0 by the visitors.

The loss was the second straight for Emmaus (6-1 EPC/8-4 overall) who was coming off of a 12-9 non-league defeat to Boyertown on Saturday.

Junior Will Barber led the Hornets in scoring with a game-high four goals while classmate Liam Rooney and freshman Jack Restino also scored goals. Senior Aidan Garrett won 15 of 22 at the faceoff-X and between the pipes junior Sam Rainford made 12 saves.

Easton (6-1 EPC/10-3 overall) had six different players register goals in the win. Senior Sean Wilson led the way with a six-point night (3G/3A) and sophomore Cael Disora had a five-point effort (3G/2A). In goal, senior Owen Amacker was credited with 15 stops.

Emmaus will return to action on Thursday as they travel to Northwestern Lehigh for a non-league matchup. Faceoff is set for 6:30 p.m.
