RECAP >> Any thought of a letdown after its highly-emotional win over previously-undefeated Freedom from earlier this week, did not come to fruition last night for Emmaus as the Hornets dominated rival Central Catholic 14-8 at Salisbury High School.

Six different players figured into the scoring column for first year head coach Bob Kornicke’s team who remained one of two unbeatens in the EPC along with Parkland — both at 6-0. The Hornets improved their overall mark to 8-2 on the season.

Junior Liam Rooney led the offensive attack with an eight-point effort scoring a career-high six goals while adding a pair of assists. For his efforts, Rooney was named the SportClips Player of The Game on the LIVE broadcast on The Eastern Pa. Sports Network.

Junior Will Barber added a hat trick and two assists in the win, while sophomore Ashton Fehr also scored a pair of goals. Senior Aidan Garrett continued his dominance at the faceoff-X winning 15 of 21. Between the pipes, junior Sam Rainford made 14 saves.

For Central Catholic (3-4 EPC/5-4 overall) sophomore James McCarthy had a hat trick, while senior Nick Pomajevich and sophomore Michael Restino each scored two goals. In goal, senior Vince Probst was credited with four saves and sophomore Chris Burke seven.

Emmaus will close out the week on Saturday at 10 a.m. at home as they host Boyertown (8-2) from the Pioneer Athletic Conference.
