CORNER KICKS: Emmaus is coming off a runner-up finish in the District XI Tournament after falling to rival Parkland 1-0 in last Saturday’s championship game. The shutout marked the third time in as many playoff games that the Hornets have not scored a goal. Both their quarterfinal round win (vs Easton) and semifinal round win (vs Liberty) were won in PKs (5-4) … As a program, Emmaus is making their 25th appearance in states. Their last appearance came back in 2023 when they lost at home to Council Rock North 2-1. They also lost at home by the same score back in 2021 to Abington in overtime. The Hornets last win in states, ironically, came against LaSalle back in 2020 when they defeated the Explorers 3-2 at Memorial Field … LaSalle qualified for states after defeating Northeast 2-0 in the District 12 championship game. The Explorers won their third straight Philadelphia Catholic League (PCL) title defeating Father Judge 2-0 …. Emmaus and LaSalle have played each other the last three years during the Summer.
