October 8, 2019

RECAP >> Not even Mother Nature could stop the Hornets from giving their head coach a milestone victory on Monday night.

With a drenching rain falling at Cedar Crest College, Emmaus closed out its regular-season on a strong note by blanking rival Central Catholic 2-0.

Junior Patrick Walsh scored the only goal the Hornets would need in the second half as he found the back of net with his ninth goal of the season off a corner kick from classmate Hudson Peck.

Emmaus then added an insurance goal with just six minutes left in regulation as junior Josh Whalen scored his first career goal to make it 2-0 off an assist from senior AJ Febbraro.

The shutout was the ninth of the season for the Hornets who finished 13-3 in the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference and are now 15-3 overall.

Up next is the EPC playoffs which are scheduled to get underway on Saturday. Emmaus will host a first-round game at Memorial Field against an opponent to be determined.
