
The Emmaus boys volleyball team captured the championship of the 15-team Red Rover Invitational on Saturday at Easton Middle School.
Head coach Jon Wilson’s squad had an impressive showing going undefeated on the day, sweeping Palumbo, Central Bucks South, Notre Dame Green Pond and Solehi in pool play, and then capturing the championship in straight sets over Council Rock South of the Suburban One Conference.
The championship was the second in the last three years for the Hornets, who also won titles in 2018 and 2017.
Both junior Ben Skekel and senior Colin Holden were named to the all-tournament for Emmaus along with Josh Cook of Council Rock South, Finn McFadden and Austin McConnell of Haverford and Matt Mellor of Easton.
The other teams involved in the one-day event included: Allen, Carver, Liberty, North Penn, Northampton, Quakertown, Nazareth, Haverford and the host school, Easton.
Emmaus will return to action at 6 p.m. on Tuesday as they host Pocono Mountain East.
