RECAP >> Twice this season Emmaus has had its hands full against a much-improved Easton squad and on both occassions, the Hornets have found themselves in matches that have gone the distance.
In the season-opener on March 25 at Easton, Emmaus had to rally for a 3-2 win after after dropping the first two sets.
On Monday night at home one month later, the Hornets were in a similar position as they once again trailed after three sets.
But an inspired Emmaus team with its backs against the wall were able to rally and win another five-set thriller over the Red Rovers 3-2 (25-21, 20-25, 13-25, 25-22, 19-17).
Senior setter Ben Maskiell had a huge night in leading the Hornets to the come-from-behind victory leading the offense with a team-high nine kills and four aces and defensively he had 17 digs and dished out 32 assists for Emmaus which improved to 10-2 on the season.
Senior middle hitter Noah Parker and sophomore middle hitter Jametric Harris each had seven kills on the night, while junior OPP Lord Henry had four kills to go along with five blocks. Junior libero Zach Baus had a team-high 23 digs.
Easton, which had defeated Parkland earlier this season (3-1), dropped to 8-4 in the league and 8-6 overall.
