Boys Volleyball – Hornets rally to earn 3-2 win over Whitehall and give new head coach first career victory

The Chris Miller coaching era got off to an exciting start on Tuesday night as Emmaus went on the road and earned a thrilling five set win over Whitehall 3-2 (23-25, 25-12, 22-25, 25-23, 15-10)

Emmaus, ranked No. 4 in the PVCA 3A pre-season poll, twice had to rally in the match before prevailing and winning the fifth and final set 15-10.

Leading the balanced attack for the Hornets were senior Bilaal Kerim who had a game-high 21 kills, junior Miles Boulrice with 20 kills and senior Grayson Answini with 14 kills and four digs. Senior Josiah Brown had a game-high six aces and two digs. Senior libero Jesse Owusu’s 29 digs led the defense while senior setter Ben Skekel ran the offense dishing out 59 assists.

Emmaus will return to action at 6 p.m. tonight as they host Easton in their home opener.
