RECAP >> The Emmaus girls posted a perfect 3-0 mark in a Eastern Pennsylvania Conference meet held Tuesday, while the boys team went 1-2 against league foes Nazareth, Northampton and host Easton.
The girls ran away from the competition as they defeated host Easton 18-37, Nazareth 16-47 and Northampton 15-50.
Head coach Kami Reinhard’s team had four placewinners in the top 10, including the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place finishers.
Sophomore Payton Campbell finished first overall with a time of 19:38, followed by teammates freshman Madelyn McCartney (2nd, 19:48), senior Hailey Reinhard (3rd, 20:00) and sophomore Addison Johnson (4th, 20:29).
In the boys race, the Hornets defeated Northampton 19-44 while falling to Easton 26-29 and Nazareth 17-40.
Sophomore Conor Fisher was Emmaus’ top overall finisher in sixth place in a time of 17:39. Senior Sam Dalton, sophomore Richard Will and senior Oscar Felegy were next finishing 12th, 13th and 14th, respectively.
Emmaus will return to action on September 20 as they host Pleasant Valley, Pocono Mountain East and Pocono Mountain West at Camp Olympic Park.
