Emmaus senior quarterback Ethan Parvel has been named a Mini Max Award winner announced yesterday by the Maxwell Football Club in Philadelphia.
Parvel, who threw for over 1,800 yards and accounted for 38 touchdowns this season, was one of 63 players from the eastern part of the state of Pennsylvania — Districts 11, 1, 3 and 12 to be selected.
“Ethan has done an outstanding job all year,” said Emmaus head coach Harold Fairclough. “He has had such an impact on this program since he has gotten here. I felt like with the numbers that he put up this year and his career as a player, he should be recognized for it. To me it was an easy nomination; definitely well-deserved.”
Players nominated by their coaches were evaluated based on a criteria that includes: football performance, academics and community service.
The Mini Max Award recipients will be honored at a dinner to be held on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at the Drexelbrook Catering Ballroom in Drexel Hill, Pa. The dinner is open to the public and tickets can be purchased by visiting www.maxwellfootballclub.org.
The club will select one player from the group of 63 as the Pennsylvania High School Player of the Year.
