Field Hockey and girls soccer pick up season-opening shutout wins, boys soccer drops opener to state power Cumberland Valley

Five different players scored goal in the Hornets 6-0 season-opening win at Stroudsburg on Friday morning.

Junior Lauren Kushma led the offense with a pair of goals, while senior Haley Kvacky had a game-high two assists to go along with her first goal of the season. In goal, senior Emma Cari picked up the shutout win making four saves.

Cumberland Valley 3, Emmaus 1 (Boys Soccer)

Facing perennial state power Cumberland Valley on the road on Saturday afternoon, Emmaus found itself in a 1-1 tie at the break, but the Eagles were able to pull away in the second half with a pair of goals in their 3-1 win.

Sophomore Canyon Reinhardt scored the Hornets lone goal of the game in the first half. In net, senior Colin Wilson was credited with three saves
