Field Hockey – Annika Herbine scores season-high 4 goals, Hornets roll Liberty 8-0 to advance to EPC finals

RECAP >> Top-seeded Emmaus had an easy time in posting its 20th consecutive victory of the season on Tuesday night at the Zephyr Sports Complex at Whitehall High School as the Hornets rolled to an 8-0 win over Liberty in the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference semifinals.

The victory advances Emmaus (20-0 overall) to the EPC championship where they’ll take on rival Parkland, the No. 2 seed which edged third-seeded Easton 2-1 in the other semifinal. The game will be played on Thursday at a site and time to be determined. The Hornets will be aiming for its fifth straight league title.

Junior Annika Herbine led the Emmaus offense with a season-high four goals, two in each half. Sister Rachel added a pair of goals, her team-leading 46th and 47th of the season, while sophomore Jenna Villeneuve and senior Kaitlyn Csensits added solo goals. Junior Bailey Tietz recorded her 15th shutout of the season in goal making four saves.
