Field Hockey – Burnett scores hat trick as Hornets remain unbeaten on the season with 10-0 rout of Freedom

At Freedom on Tuesday afternoon, Emmaus posted its fifth shutout of the season in routing the Patriots 10-0.

Seven different players scored goals for the Hornets, who were led by senior Avery Burnett who had a hat trick. Classmate Morgann Orobono added two goals in the win, while junior Madison Lenig added a goal and two assists. Sophomore Ella Horner had a game-high three assists for Emmaus which improved to 6-0 on the season.

In goal, junior Emily Romano and senior Aiko Price combined on the shutout.

Emmaus dominated statistically outshooting Freedom 38-0 and holding a 16-0 advantage in penalty corners.

Freedom dropped to 2-3 overall (2-2 EPC) with the loss.

The Hornets will return to action on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. as they host Stroudsburg (3-3).
