GAME NOTES – Emmaus is aiming for its 16th state title in program history. The Hornets have been to the finals twice in the last three years and for the fourth time in the last six years claiming gold in ’23, ’21 and ’20. The Hornets defeated Manheim Twp 1-0 in ’23, Lower Dauphin 1-0 in ’21 and Central Dauphin 4-0 in ’20 … Sophomore Riley Povilaitis has been Emmaus’ leading scorer in the state tournament scoring four goals, including the game-winner in OT vs Villa Maria in the semifinals. The Hornets have outscored their three opponents 12-3 … CB West reached the state semifinals a year ago before falling to the eventual state champ Conestoga …The Bucks are led by Maryland commit senior Aida Ierubino who has 49 goals on the season and senior goalie Kendra Pitts who has an 81% save percentage. CB West has been playing with heavy hearts all season long wearing pink uniforms in dedication of teammate Zola Morelli’s mom who passed away last fall after a battle with breast cancer … The Bucks only state title came back in 1981.
