RECAP >> The toughest matchup to date in the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference proved to be no contest.for Emmaus on Saturday at home at Memorial Field.
Five different players scored goals and the Hornets out shot visiting Stroudsburg by an incredible 38-3 margin on their way to an 8-0 rout of the Mountaineers.
Senior Liz Mazzella led the offensive attack registering her third hat trick of the season, while teammate junior Annika Herbine added a pair of goals and two assists as Emmaus remained unbeaten on the season (7-0 overall, 6-0 EPC).
Freshman Abby Burnett and senior Kaitlyn Csensits each added a goal and an assist in the win and freshman Rachel Herbine had a game-high three assists.
Emmaus was never challenged in this matchup against a two-loss Stroudsburg team that had fallen to Oley Valley (4-0) and Northampton (3-1) earlier this season, as they scored five goals in the first half and three more in the second.
Senior goalie Emma Valinote was outstanding in defeat for the Mountaineers (5-3 overall, 5-2 EPC) as she made an incredible 31 saves in the game.
Emmaus will return to action at 4 p.m. on Tuesday as they travel to East Stroudsburg South .
