Emmaus 1, Easton 0 (Monday @ Easton)
RECAP >> The defending PIAA Class 3A state champs opened their season with a tough matchup on Monday as the Hornets traveled to rival Easton.
Only one goal was scored in the game and that came courtesy of Emmaus’ Marissa Gigliotti. The freshman, playing in her first career varsity game, picked the perfect time to scorer her first goal as she put a rebound shot past Easton goalie Olivia Heryla in the third quarter.
That lone goal stood up the rest of the way as the Hornets picked up the shutout win, keeping the Red Rovers off the scoreboard.
In goal, junior Aiko Price picked up the win making three saves.
Emmaus dominated in shots (12-3) and held a 12-7 advantage in penalty corners.

RECAP >> Playing in its home-opener at Memorial Field, the Hornets scored early and often as they rolled to a 13-0 win over Bethlehem Catholic in a game that was stopped in the third quarter due to lightning.
Seven different players scored goals in the victory with senior Autumn Kernechel leading the way with a hat trick to go along with three assists. Sophmore Sadie Nawarynski also had a big game with her first career hat trick, while classmate Maddie Lenig added two goals to go along with two assists.
Statistically, Emmaus dominated in both shots on goal (29-0) and penalty corners (10-0).
The Hornets will return to action on Friday as they travel to Northampton in a 3:30 p.m. matchup.
