Field Hockey – Weber tallies 6 goals, Hornets rout Liberty 10-0 to improve to 11-0 in the EPC.

Senior Melea Weber started and ended the scoring for Emmaus last night, accounting for more than half of her team’s offensive production in the Hornets 10-0 rout of Liberty at BASD Stadium.

Weber scored at least one goal in every quarter, part of her game-high six goals, as Emmaus won its fifth straight contest in improving to 11-0 in the EPC and 11-1 overall.

Senior Haley Kvacky added a goal and an assist, while classmate Abby Romano added her seventh goal of the season and junior Emmy Horner her ninth. Junior Autum Kernechel had a game-high three assists.

Statistically, the Hornets dominated outshooting the Hurricane 37-4 and holding a 15-2 advantage in penalty corners. In goal, senior Emma Cari posted her 10th shutout of the season making four saves. Liberty’s Caedmyn Bardsley-Cutler and Aubrey Wylie-Neith combined on 21 stops.

Emmaus will return to action on Monday at 6:30 p.m. as they host Gwynedd Mercy in a non-league game. The game will aired LIVE on The Eastern Pa. Sports Network beginning at 6:20 p.m.
