RECAP >> Emmaus capped off a perfect 3-0 week by posting its third straight shutout in as many games as the Hornets went on the road and blanked District 3 foe Hershey 5-0 on Saturday morning.
The victory keeps Emmaus unbeaten on the season at 8-0 and it was career win No. 995 for head coach Sue Butz-Stavin.
Junior Ava Zerfas led the scoring with a pair of goals and an assist, while classmate Rachel Herbine had a game-high two assists to go along with a goal. Freshman Autum Kernechel and senior Kyleigh Faust also scored in the win. In goal, sophomore Emma Cari stopped three shots and picked up her sixth shutout of the season.
Emmaus outshot Hershey (3-4) 16-3 in the game and held a 9-7 advantage in penalty corners.
The Hornets will return to action this week with four games: Monday @ CB East (4 pm), Tuesday vs Allen (6:30 pm), Thursday @ Pleasant Valley (4 pm) and Saturday @ Stroudsburg (3:30 pm).
