RECAP — Emmaus cruised to its second consecutive win and shutout of the season last night as they found the end zone nine times and rolled to an easy 63-0 win over Dieruff before no fans at East Penn School District Stadium.
Senior running back Brandon Camire and sophomore quarterback Jake Fotta combined for seven touchdowns in the win as the Hornets improved to 2-0 on the season. Emmaus also defeated the Huskies for the 12th straight time with the last meeting coming in 2017 — a 62-19 Hornets win.
Camire, coming off a career-high five touchdown effort in last week’s 58-0 win over Allen, finished the night with 142 yards on the ground on only seven carries and found the end zone four times on runs on 66, 37, 2 and 36 yards. He now has nine touchdowns thru the first two games of the season.
Fotta tossed a career-high three touchdowns, hitting three different receivers for scores and also threw 115 yards on 8 of 10 passing. He connected with senior Jameel Sanders on the second play of the game on a 36-yard scoring strike and he also had a 10-yard touchdown pass to junior Jaiden Robinson and a 8-yard pass to senior Gabe Trexler.
Sophomore Tylik Jarvis had a career-high two touchdowns on runs of 32 and 2 yards and finished with nearly 100 yards on the ground (97) in just the second half alone.
Emmaus will return to action next Saturday as they travel to J. Birney Crum Stadium to take on Central Catholic at 7 p.m. Penn Sports Radio will have live coverage of the game beginning with the pregame show at 6:30 p.m.
