RECAP >> Trailing for the first time all season, Emmaus rallied from a five-point deficit at the half as they remained undefeated with a 38-28 win over upset-minded Whitehall on Mentor Night Friday at East Penn School District Stadium.

Senior running back Brandon Camire scored three of his four touchdowns on the night after halftime and the defense put up a stellar effort in the second half as the Hornets improved to 4-0 in defeating former offensive coordinator Matt Senneca, the second-year head coach at Whitehall.

Camire, who had a career-high five touchdowns earlier this season in a win against Allen, scored on a runs of 38 and 5 yards, caught a 76-yard pass and also had a 88-yard kickoff return in the first quarter. He now has 14 touchdowns on the season.

Sophomore quarterback Jake Fotta threw for a career-high 153 yards and two touchdowns and connected with seven different receivers on the night.

Defensively, Emmaus allowed just one score in the second half after allowing 21 points in the first half. Junior linebacker Jared Groller led the way with a team-high six tackles, while fellow linebacker senior Connor Carter had five.

Junior Quinn Wentling threw for 322 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Whitehall offense. Running back Damonte Foreman had a pair of scores – a 57-yard touchdown pass and a 1-yard run. Wide receiver Tommy Buskirk had a game-high seven receptions for 102 yards, while Ryan Kovalchick had four catches for 105 yards and a score.

Statistically, Whitehall outgained Emmaus 432-277 in total yards and the Zephyrs ran 79 plays compared to just 48 for the Hornets.

Emmaus will close out the regular-season on Friday as they travel to rival Parkland in a matchup of unbeatens. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and the game will be carried LIVE on www.pennsportsradio.com beginning with the pregame show at 6:30 p.m.
