RECAP >> The combination of Jacob Fotta to Dylan Darville has proven to be one of the best quarterback to wide receiver combos in the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference this season.

It’s also given opposing coaches fits.

The two playmakers were at it again on Friday night at Bethlehem Area School District Stadium in keeping Emmaus, the state’s No.3 ranked team in Class 6A, unbeaten on the season.

Fotta hooked up with Darville on two of his three touchdown passes and Darville also got it done on the defensive side of the ball with a career-high two interceptions as Emmaus rolled to a 42-12 rout over a Bethlehem Catholic team that had won three of its first four games.

The Hornets pulled away from the Golden Hawks in the second quarter as they scored 28 unanswered points after Becahi had gotten to within 7-6 in the first quarter as they improved to 5-0 on the season. The 5-0 start marks the second time in the last three years that Emmaus has won their first five games.

Fotta finished the night 11 of 17 for 162 yards and matched his career-high for touchdown passes in a game. He also ran for 50 yards and a score.

Darville had five receptions for 77 yards and senior running back Tylik Jarvis had a season-high 130 yards on the ground, including his second touchdown of the season.

Senior free safety Ryan DeJohn had his first career touchdown to close out the scoring for Emmaus as picked up a fumble and returned it 42 yards for a score in the fourth quarter.

Defensively, Senior linebacker Aidan Garrett led Emmaus with a team-high eight tackles. Junior defensive end Mario Landino was next with six tackles followed by DeJohn who had five.

Becahi had its two-game win streak snapped as they dropped to 3-2 on the season. The Golden Hawks managed just 130 yards of total offense. Senior quarterback Luke Thomas completed just 7 of 20 passes for 36 yards and three interceptions.

Emmaus will return to action next Friday at 7 p.m. as they return home to face Stroudsburg (3-2). The game will be carried LIVE on www.easternpasportsnetwork.com beginning with the pregame show at 6:30 p.m.
