Game notes: Friday is opening night around the state with the Hornets traveling to Stroudsburg. The two teams have not met in recent history. Emmaus will be looking to win its season-opener for the eighth straight year (last loss on opening day: 2013 vs Pennridge 33-27 OT) …The Hornets were ranked No.5 in the state in the pre-season Class 6A poll, their highest ranking in years, with 5 returnees on offense and 6 on defense. How will the offense change now that highly-touted Jr. QB Jake Fotta is out for the year with an ACL injury and sophomore Josiah Williams is under center? The Hornets ‘D’ should be strong upfront on the DL and backed by outstanding LB crew.
