RECAP >> Jake Fotta had himself a night while reaching a personal milestone in front of the home crowd at East Penn School District Stadium.

Emmaus’ senior signalcaller threw three touchdown passes, ran for another and surpassed the 2,000 career passing yard mark in the process as the Hornets had their way for the second year in a row against Stroudsburg rolling to a 51-14 win on Mentor Night.

Fotta finished 15 of 22 while throwing for a season-high 288 yards — all in the first half –as the state’s No.3 ranked team in Class 6A improved to 6-0 on the season. Emmaus also hung 51 points on the Mountaineers following up last season’s 51-0 mauling at Stroudsburg in Week 1.

Emmaus scored touchdowns on five of its first six possessions in building a commanding 45-7 lead at the break and enforcing the mercy rule for the entire second half.

Jake Fotta hooked up twice with his brother, Chase, on touchdown passes of 25 and 38 yards in the first half and senior Jackson Lake who hauled in his second career TD reception from 6 yards out giving the Hornets a 21-0 lead after the first quarter.

Senior running back Tylik Jarvis, who was coming off a season-high 130 yards on the ground in last week’s 42-12 win over Becahi, finished with 93 yards on the ground on just six carriers and a pair of TD runs of 21 and 33 yards.

Sophomore Michael Milot closed out the scoring on the night with his second touchdown of the season from 28 yards in the fourth quarter. Freshman quarterback Jerek Cooper played the entire second half for the Hornets.

Defensively, Emmaus was once again stout limiting Stroudsburg to just 142 total yards (79 pass/63 rush) while forcing three turnovers. Senior linebacker Aidan Garrett led the unit with seven tackles and a fumble recovery, while senior free safety Ryan DeJohn and junior linebacker John Wassel each had four tackles.

The Hornets will be back at home next Friday as they host Liberty (2-4) at 7 p.m. on Homecoming. The game will be carried LIVE on www.easternpasportsnetwork.com beginning with the pregame show at 6:30 p.m.
