RECAP >> Just two days after going on the road and defeating Allen by 13 points, the Canaries returned the favor on Emmaus’ home court on Saturday afternoon as they handed the Hornets their first loss of the season 49-41.
Allen held a one-point lead after three quarters (30-29) and outscored Emmaus 19-12 in the fourth for the difference as they picked up their first win (1-2).
Junior Shanalya Ells, who was held to just four points in the Canaries 42-29 loss to the Hornets on Thursday, bounced back with a big performance as she led all scorers with a game-high 20 points, including four 3-pointers. Sophomore Amonya Tate added 14 in the win for
Emmaus, which dropped to 3-1 on the season, was led in scoring by senior Steph Klemick who scored a career-high 11 points. Sophomore Paige Inman added eight.
The Hornets will look to get back into the win column on Tuesday as they host Central Catholic at 7 p.m. The game will be carried live on The Eastern Pa. Sports Network.
