RECAP >> Emmaus picked up its second win of the season on Saturday afternoon as the Hornets went on the road and defeated Scranton for the second time in as many years, 58-39 on Saturday afternoon.
Senior Alyssa Burkhart led Emmaus in scoring with a season-high 15 points. Burkhart also had a career-high 17 points in the Hornets win over Scranton a year ago, 54-44.
Freshman Keziah Brantley reached double figures for the third time this season and finished with 10 points for the Hornets, who raced out to an 18-2 lead after one quarter and never looked back.
The win helped improve head coach Kelsey Gallagher’s team to 2-6 on the season and it also snapped a five-game losing skid.

Emmaus will be off for the holiday and won’t return to action until Tuesday, January 2 when they travel to defending class 4A state champion Bethlehem Catholic. Tip is 7 p.m.
