A season ago when rival Parkland came to ‘The Hive’, the Hornets were able to end a decade-long losing streak to their arch-rival by defeating the Trojans 56-48.

In that game, Emmaus was able to overcome an early double-digit deficit to rally for their first win against Parkland since the 2011-12 season.

Last night at home, the Hornets once again found themselves down early, but this time they were never able to recover as they were held to a season-low for points in a game in a 48-30 loss to the Trojans.

Emmaus struggled offensively managing just nine field goals in the game as they fell to 5-7 overall and 4-4 in the EPC. They also had their two-game win streak snapped.

In the loss, freshman Kayla Snyder scored a team-high 12 points for Emmaus. No other player scored more than six points.

Parkland (12-1 overall/8-0 EPC) was led by senior Madison Siggins who had a game-high 21 points and classmates Talia Zurinskas and Delaney Chilcote who each tallied 11 points.

The Trojans outscored the Hornets in three of the four quarters, grabbing a 15-7 lead after one quarter, building a 26-13 lead at the half and still leading 35-23 after three quarters.

Emmaus will return to action on Friday when they travel to Pocono Mountain East (1-11/0-8). Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
