Girls Basketball – Hornets losing skid hits 12 straight as they fall to Central Catholic 42-25

RECAP – The struggles for the Emmaus girls basketball team continued on Friday night at home at ‘The Hive’ as the Hornets fell to Central Catholic 42-25 in Eastern Pennsylvania Conference action.

The loss was the 12th straight for second-year head coach Kelsey Gallagher’s team which remains winless in the league at 0-14 and 2-18 overall. Central Catholic, meanwhile, improved to 9-5 in the EPC and 13-7 overall following the victory.

Junior Brooke Wunderler had a pair of 3-pointers and led the Hornets in scoring with a team-high seven points, while sophomore Steph Klemick added a career-high five points off the bench.

Central Catholic had three players reach double figures led by Julia Roth who scored a game-high 16 points. Junior center Maria Traglia added 14 points, while senior guard Jess Davis added 10 for the Vikettes who outscored the Hornets in all four quarters.

Emmaus will close out the regular-season next week with a pair of home games against Nazareth on Monday and Whitehall on Wednesday. Both games tip off at 7 p.m.
