RECAP >> Emmaus tasted defeat for the first time this season on Saturday afternoon in Scranton as the Hornets fell to a red-hot shooting Knights team 65-41 in a non-league game.
Scranton (4-1) scored the most points against Emmaus this season as they used a 23-4 second quarter to pull away for the victory and drop the Hornets to 5-1 overall.
Junior Finley Bittenbender highlited the win for the Knights as she drained five 3-pointers and scored a game-high 21 points. Classmate Canyah Randle just missed double figures and finished with nine, while senior Lanee Olson and junior Kamryn Alers each added eight points.
No player for Emmaus finished in double figures. Freshman Gabrielle De Vita and Olive Whitney, junior Taylor Griffith and senior Paige Inman all scored six points, while sophomore Cassandra Doemling added a season-high five points.
The Hornets will return to action at 7 p.m. on Tuesday as they host Freedom (1-3 EPC/1-5 overall). The game will be carried LIVE on www.easternpasportsnetwork.com beginning at 6:40 p.m.
