Girls Basketball – Whitney scores career-high 21 points as Hornets celebrate Senior Night with 39 point rout of Allen.

Emmaus celebrated its Senior Night on Friday by routing visiting Allen for the second time this season, 60-21 at home at ‘The Hive.’

Senior Olive Whitney, one of four seniors honored before the game, drained five 3-pointers and scored a career-high 21 points for the Hornets who improved to 12-1 in the EPC and 14-4 overall.

Another senior, Gabby DeVita, also reached double figures in the win adding13 points, while sophomore Gracie Ervin added 10.

Emmaus was never challenged in the game as they jumped out to a 28-5 lead after one quarter and built the advantage to 42-13 at the break. The lead grew too as much as 55-16 after three quarters.

Allen was led in scoring by Arianna Rosario who had a team-high 12 points. The Canaries dropped their fifth straight game as fell to 2-11 in the EPC and 3-14 overall.

Emmaus will return to action today at 1 p.m. as they travel to East Stroudsburg South for a non-league game.
