RECAP >> Needing a win to lockdown the top overall seed in the upcoming Eastern Pennsylvania Conference Tournament, Emmaus took care of business on Wednesday night at home at Memorial Field as the Hornets defeated rival Parkland 10-4 to close out a tremendous regular-season.

The game was carried LIVE on The Eastern Pa. Sports Network with former EHS grad Ellie Ervin ’21 serving as a color analyst.

Senior Julia Cote returned to the lineup after missing the past two games with a lower leg injury and scored a game-high five goals to lead Emmaus, which improved to 16-2 overall and 8-1 in the league.

With the victory, the Hornets will be the No.1 seed for next Tuesday’s semifinal at Northampton High School and will likely face Parkland, the No.4 seed, in a rematch. The other semifinal will pit No.2 Easton vs No.3 Pleasant Valley.

Junior Emily Hollinger added four goals in the victory, while senior Mikayla Viola also found the back of the net with her 30th goal of the season. Between the pipes, sophomore Alani Shotwell picked up the win making four saves.

Parkland (6-3, 9-7) was led in scoring by sophomore Gigi Leonzi who scored all four of her team’s goals.
