RECAP >> Seniors Grace Hall and Taylor O’Brien combined for seven goals and six different Hornets found the back of the net as Emmaus opened its season at home at Memorial Field on Friday with a 14-5 rout of non-league foe Upper Perkiomen.
The win marked the first time in four years that Emmaus has defeated the Indians from the Pioneer Athletic Conference .
Hall had a six-point day and led all scorers with a game-high four goals to go along with two assists, while O’Brien recorded a hat trick and added an assist
Juniors Kaitlyn Csensits and Tori Brinckman each added a pair of goals in the win, sophomore Olivia Chase scored her first two goals of her varsity career, and freshman Julia Cote also registered her goal of her career.
Upper Perk (0-1) was led in scoring by sophomore Bella Carpenter who had a pair of goals.
Emmaus (1-0) will be right back in action on Saturday at 11 a.m. in their second non-league game in as many days as they travel to Wyoming Seminary.
