Girls lacrosse – Unbeaten Hornets score a season high 24 goals in rout of Crestwood; Cote and Poll each tally 7 goals in win

RECAP >> The Emmaus girls lacrosse team posted a season-high for goals in a game as the Hornets rolled to a 24-4 win over District 2 foe Crestwood on Saturday night at Memorial Field.

Seven different players scored goals in the victory for Emmaus, which remained undefeated (8-0) on the season.

Senior Julia Cote and sophomore Jordyn Poll combined to score 14 goals in the win with each player tallying a season-high seven goals. Junior Emily Hollinger added four goals, senior Kam Watkins tallied two goals and two assists and classmate Sophia Candy also added a pair of scores. Sophomore Alani Shotwell made two saves in goal and senior Marybeth Smith recorded a milestone with her 100th career groundball.

Crestwood was led by junior Isabella Caporuscio who had a hat trick.

Emmaus will return to action at 5:30 p.m. on Monday as they travel to Pleasant Valley (5-2 overall).
