RECAP >> An early four-goal deficit wasn’t too much for Emmaus to overcome in their season-opener at Spring-Ford last night as the Hornets rallied for a thrilling 10-9 win over the Rams.
Senior Emily Hollinger led the offensive attack scoring a game-high five goals, while teammate junior Bri McClain recorded a hat trick for Emmaus (1-0). Juniors Jordyn Poll added a goal and an assist and classmate Melea Weber also scored in the win for the Hornets who defeated Spring-Ford for the second consecutive season. In goal, junior Alani Shotwell made 10 saves.
Spring-Ford was led by junior Gianna DiBattista and sophomore Hailey Mozi who each scored a hat trick. The Rams returned eight starters from last year’s team that finished 8-10 overall.
Emmaus will return to action on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. as they host Nazareth in their EPC opener at Memorial Field.
