Girls LAX – Hornets suffer first loss in league play falling on the road to Freedom 8-7

RECAP >> Emmaus was held to its lowest offensive output of the season yesterday at Freedom and as a result, suffered its first loss in league play as they were upset by the Patriots 8-7.

The Hornets also had their six-game win streak snapped as they dropped to 9-2 overall and 3-1 in the EPC.

In the loss, senior Emily Hollinger led Emmaus with a four-point effort scoring three goals and adding an assist. Juniors Jordyn Poll and Bri McClain each added two goals. In goal, junior Alani Shotwell was credited with six saves.

Freedom (3-1 EPC/6-4 overall) had five different goals scorers in the win. Senior Paige Jenkins led all scorers with four goals for the Patriots who have won three straight and four of their last five.

Emmaus will look to get back into the win column on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. as they return home to face Central Catholic (2-4-1).
